About Me

About Me:

Name: Titus Ong
Age: 16
Year: Sec 4

Favourite books: Namely fantasy/adventure, e.g. The Inheritance trilogy by Paolini, The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind (The inheritance and omen machine just came out). I also like crime/investigation e.g. CSI.
Generally, I read quite a lot and often during my free time. Sometimes I neglect studies to read because the book is too interesting. However, now that exams are (soon) over, I hope to finish a list of books I planned out over the holidays.

Interests: Classical music, reading, tennis, thinking, gaming
I also listen to rock but I prefer classical. I have been playing tennis since young and hope to continue it in CCA in JC. I'm not exactly a literature person, but I like to think about the general existence of life and the meaning of it- would we rather have self-fulfillment, or provide for the younger generation? Is sustainability of the human race that important? Of course, every teenager is interested in gaming.

Concerns for the future: The dying of the environment, possibility of cryogenics, extinction of trees
I have always been a (passive) advocator of saving the environment, though I haven't really done anything about it. However, I'm interested in future scientific breakthroughs/happenings, such as the extinction of trees and whether we'll die shortly after. Cryogenics and other things unheard of before this century are exciting as the so-called myths in fantasy books have a possibility of coming alive.

Personal take on things: I try to appease everyone, and always like a little humour with everything. I don't understand why people harbour hostility between each other- wouldn't the world be a much better place if everyone co-operated and everyone is provided with basic rights and needs as long as he or she does her part? I believe in equality for everyone and everyone to be treated as a fellow human being.

Strengths: In academia, mainly math and memory (helps quite a lot in studying). In life, probably my ability to be on good terms with everyone, though it might affect my personality.

Abilities: I play the cello, piano and tennis.

Ambition: I hope to either do something in the bio/chem field, or take on finance or accountancy. I also wish to help needy people either during my working years or after I retire.
